Girls Pint Out has chapters throughout the United States. Each chapter is as diverse as the ladies that run it. To celebrate our exceptional  chapters and their diversity, Girls Pint Out is posting a series of blog posts that highlight each state’s unique craft beer culture. Texas is the third in this series. We have a lot of ground to cover in Texas – so we are breaking this post into two parts.

Community Beer Company
buy cheap designer prom dresses 2016 at queenofvictoriaAt the risk of sounding cheesy, their name really does say it all! On the weekend their very large taproom is filled with families, friends, dogs, artists, musicians, and food trucks. They are GABF gold medal award-winning and what better way to experience that than in their tap room? Come check them out:

I feel like I should Bart-Simpson-chalk board this: TRY THE TEMPTRESS TRY THE TEMPTRESS TRY THE TEMPTRESS. After you have tried the the Temptress, do whatever you can to try all the other versions of the Temptress (French Quarter has barrel aged coffee and chicory). Lakewood brewing is has a smaller, intimate taproom, a lively brewery tour and makes phenomenal beers. You can visit them Noon- 3 pm every Saturday.

Crafty Spots:

Craft and Growler is the only place I want to be in Dallas on a Friday night. Start by going a few miles up the road to La Hausteca, grab some tacos and sit at the bar with a flight of beer. Craft and Growler has created such a great atmosphere it’s impossible not to end the night having conversations with folks, generally on the topic of beer. Good food, good beer, good people. It’s BYOF (food) and all their retail items are awesome!

The Bottle Shop in lower Greenville has an unrivaled bottle selection for the area. They also have free pizza days, beer school hosted weekly, and pint nights.

Meddlesome Moth. If you like to sit down comfortably with friends and have a true epicurean experience, this is where you do that in Dallas.  Meddlesome Moth has many small plate and shareable options that everyone is sure to enjoy! The beer selection can satisfy the pickiest of drinkers and they are constantly hosting awesome events!

Common table is known for its weekly themed beer dinners and for its always exciting tap tower. The Common Table has beer and food down to an art. The space is pretty comfortable, and I have yet to meet bad service.

San Antonio

Breweries:

Gold Sequin Sleeveless Tea-length Tulle Flower Girl DressRanger Creek Brewstillery (brewery and whisky distillery)
As a brewery and distillery, Ranger Creek says that they “like to focus on the relationship between beer and whiskey. As a combined operation, we can do things to highlight this relationship that no one else can, like age our own beer in our own bourbon barrels and distill our beers into whiskeys.” Tours are generally Saturdays at 2 pm and you can register to attend one here.

Branchline Brewery
Branchline’s focus is “not only to provide our offering to the extreme craft beer drinker, but Brqanchlinealso to the casual drinker that enjoys a lighter product” as demonstrated by their regular line-up- Evil Owl American Amber, Shady Oak Blonde Ale, and Woodcutter Rye IPA.

Freetail Brewing
This pizza-focused brewpub is opening a larger production facility this summer to expand operations. According to their website, “Delicious beer, great food, awesome music and good company – that’s the Freetail way.”

Busted Sandal
The taproom is open for pints and tours Wednesday to Friday 5:00-9:00 and Saturday 2:00-9:00.

One of our local breweries scored a silver at GABF, 5 Stones, but they do not currently have tours.

Crafty Spots:

Some of the not-to-miss establishments that go out of their way to serve local craft brews are:Bighops Big Hops (they have three locations at the moment with one being a gastropub), The Filling Station (tiny old gas station that has an amazingly affordable range of craft beers), Missions Untapped (focused on local craft beer on tap and bottles for sale).

The restaurants that have amazing beer: Tuk Tuk Taproom, The Friendly Spot and The Cove. There are a few food truck parks outside San Antonio that have over 30 taps:  The Point Food Truck Park and Random. Soon San Antonio will have Southerleigh, which will be a brewery, restaurant, and hotel in the Pearl Brewery complex.

Anything we missed? Please leave it in the comments below! If you’re looking to host a GPO event in Texas, or start a new chapter, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
