Girls Pint Out Chapter: Milwaukee Girls Pint Out
Advisory Board Position: President
What’s your favorite thing about running a GPO chapter?
Having the ability to create really wonderful, educational beer events for other women in my city and watch that community group is an amazing feeling. I would also say the opportunities that have come from being a chapter leader have been outstanding!
What other activities do you like to do besides drink beer?
Some of my favorite Saturdays are spent being a mom and I go full mom-mode with leggings/hoodie/coffee. Watching my son play basketball and shuffling him around to different activities makes me happy. I also really love to go to the gym, kayak, bake, and spend time with family and friends.
What is your favorite part of your local city’s beer scene?
I think my favorite parts of Milwaukee’s beer scene are that there is still room to grow and we mix the old with the new. There is a lot of rich beer history here with Pabst, Miller, Blatz, and Schlitz. We respect what has come before us and look to the future to move the beer industry forward.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Ummm…Beer. Being able to fast forward and get to that “expert” level would really help me career wise!

What’s your favorite thing about running a GPO chapter?
My favorite thing about running a GPO chapter is seeing new and familiar faces every month. There is a lot of work that goes into every event and sometimes I get tired, but once I see all the women mingling and commiserating over craft beer, it becomes more than worth it. Helping women find new styles of beer they enjoy and practicing my personal motto of, “Let me beer you!” I have seen women come in shy and quiet, who are now some of our most active and vocal members. Giving women a platform to be themselves and drink beer while doing it!
What other activities do you like to do besides drink beer?
I co-host podcasts in my spare time. Surprise, surprise they’re about craft beer. They’re also comedy podcasts, so a mix of local news, jokes, and sampling beer. While I drink beer during, it feels like so much more because we are giving brewers, non-beer guests, and musical guests a platform they may not otherwise have access to. The podcasts are She’s Crafty and I F**KING LOVE SAN ANTONIO. I also enjoy pizza and tacos more than the average person should.
What is your favorite part of your local city’s beer scene?
I love that we are a true community and a family. You will see owners and brewers out supporting different breweries and craft beer bars on their days off or after their shift at their brewery. They work together frequently, outside of collabs, and are always sharing information. You wouldn’t be hard pressed to find a brewery’s old system at the new brewery in town. We truly are a craft beer family and support the shit out of each other. Honestly, that is what has made SAGPO so successful, it’s the craft beer scene and the sense of kinship and unconditional support. I try to do my best to create a group where women become an active part in that family.
Why Beer?
Why the hell not?! I often wonder why I don’t think spirits or wine more often, but it’s the diverse flavors of beer. One style of beer can have so many different variations, where as you have to stay within certain guidelines and boundaries with other alcoholic beverages. But I also love the community around the beer scene. Beer is the drink people can share anywhere, it brings people together whether at a tailgate or a summer picnic. Beer has given me so many great memories and if I can help spread the word about damn good beer, I’m all about it.

Girls Pint Out Chapter: Green Bay, WI
What’s your favorite thing about running a GPO chapter?
I really enjoy entertaining and meeting new people. There is something magical about bringing people together and providing them with an experience they can’t get anywhere else. I love that feeling! As we get older, it gets harder to connect and meet new people and Girls Pint Out not only brings woman together its also breaking barriers in the brewing industry.
Why Beer?
There are a lot of woman like myself that are light social drinkers where enjoying a beer or spirit has become more of an art of learning the sensory experience. It’s evolving and some woman are even taking an interest in working in the industry. it’s cool to be a part of that!
What other activities do you like to do besides drink beer?
I have a passion for travel, adventure, and cycling— all of them work well together. Every year I take a cycling trip in Europe with a group called Beercycling. Last year was an Italian Beer Tour and the year before I spent 9 days in the Ardennes of Belgium covering about 250 miles in 7 days. We stayed in smaller towns and soaked up the local culture. I also love hiking and spending time outdoors in the summer. Living in WI we only get a few months of good weather, but when we do it’s beautiful. Lots of lakes and national forest to explore.
What’s your favorite beer and food pairing?
Beer and Cheese– does it get any more stereotypical than that for a girl from Wisconsin? My absolute favorite is a 10 year aged Cheddar– sharp and full of flavor it gets better with time! IPA’s, Belgian Ale, and Barrel Aged beers all pair deliciously with cheese.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
Do I have to narrow it down? I’d love to be able to wake up and be an expert aviator. The amount of training it takes to be a pilot is pretty intensive. I’ve loves airplanes since I was a kid. That, or singing. I love to sing, but have absolutely no talent in that department.

What’s your favorite thing about running a GPO chapter?
I have loved meeting amazing, creative and interesting women through GPO events. There are so many women in the beer industry now, and their passion really inspires me! It’s also a great opportunity to explore where I live, and try new and exciting places throughout the city.
What other activities do you like to do besides drink beer?
Travel! My husband and I have been to 10 countries, and have no plans to stop. The bug bit us pretty hard right after we got married, and we are always planning our next big trip. We love to explore, try new food and really immerse ourselves in whatever local culture we’re visiting.
What’s your favorite beer and food pairing?
Most definitely the classic beer and a burger. Where I live is pretty much a food and beer heaven, so it’s easy to try new things all the time. I love a big, cheesy burger with a crisp pilsner most of the time, but really, as long as it’s a burger, I can drink any kind of beer with it.
What are the new trends in craft beer that excite you the most?
For the past year or so I have been pretty crazy about New England IPAs, and so far, I have not lost any love for them. I know a lot of people think they’re trendy and are tired of NEIPAs, but I just love that hazy, juicy goodness. I am also excited about Imperial Stouts popping up all over the place, as I just can’t seem to get into barrel-aged anything.
