Laredo Girls Pint Out has met girls who do cookie art, girls who do nail art, girls who can rock makeup art, but this month was about taking on another type of art challenge: oil painting.
Paint and sip classes are nothing new in our city, but the ones we’ve been to serve wine and big beer, and have all been with acrylic paints. Our Paint with Pints event had our brushes full of oil paint, our glasses full of craft beer, bowls full of thinner, and of course our painting was beer related! Only a few took on the challenge, and not only did they do great on their first oil painting, but also had a great time (uncensored!) with way too many laughs. Our hostess and private venue, Brochazos by Fabby, will definitely be seeing more of us, or shall I say hearing?
Each of the ladies, as well as our hostess/teacher, received a bottle of Las Hermanas (the sisters), a binational hazy IPA. Why binational? Female brewers from Arizona and several parts of Mexico travelled to brew in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and then to Tucson, Arizona for a second brewday. Adelitas Cerveceras Mexicanas, Bio Bier Fabrik, Borderlands Brewing, Casa Cervecera Costa Chica, Cerveceria Concordia, Cerveceria La Silla, Cerveceria Nebulosa, Cielito Lindo, Crooked Tooth Brewing, Cuatro Palos, Dragoon Brewing, La Perruchona, Metropolitana Cervecera, RMAD, Rrey, Tombstone Brewing, and Turulata Brewing all came together to produce this work of art that paired perfectly with an evening of beer “hermanas” creating their own masterpieces.
