In early 2013, I was fairly new to Indianapolis and just dipping my toe into the craft beer scene. I could have never guessed that I’d take over running Indianapolis Girls Pint Out and the national Girls Pint Out organization. Girls Pint Out gave me a place in my community, and the larger community of craft beer enthusiasts across the country. I have so many fabulous friends because of Girls Pint Out.
As a primarily event-based organization, Girls Pint Out has been mostly on pause for the last two years because of COVID. Not to jinx us, but it seems like 2022 is time for a reboot and new leadership. It is time for me to pass the reins as Girls Pint Out president to someone with a fresh perspective and passion for the mission of building a craft beer community of women.
Girls Pint Out started informally in Indianapolis in 2010 and already had chapters all over the country when I stepped in. Girls Pint Out has become an organization of 200+ women running 100+ chapters in almost 40 states. These women are fearless in starting something new in their communities, continually support the beer industry, and create a safe space for women to drink beer. I am so proud of these women and look forward to watching them succeed and the organization to grow.
I am excited to announce that Maggie Skinner, Milwaukee Girls Pint Out chapter head and long-time advisory board member, is president effective today. Maggie has long been a part of our leadership, interviewing new chapter heads and acting as a mentor. She will be supported by our amazing Advisory Board. I expect momentous things in the future of Girls Pint Out!
Cheers, friends! Happy New Year!
